About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled Medical Assistant
Specialist to join our team at One Medical. As a key member of our
clinical support team, you will provide exceptional patient care
and support services, ensuring a seamless experience for our
patients. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and
fast-paced environment, collaborating with our healthcare providers
and support staff to deliver high-quality care.Responsibilities
- Provide venipuncture services and assist with extended scope
care duties, including non-blood specimen collection, EKGs/ECGs,
vitals, ear lavages, vaccines, PPD tests, and swabs
- Maintain high standards of in-office care through proper
specimen labeling, handling, and processing, inventory upkeep, and
tool sterilization
- Assist with clerical duties, such as answering patient
messages, following up on lab cases, and supporting providers and
virtual medical teams with tasks like biometric screening forms,
medical record review, billing inquiries, and DOH reporting
- Use impeccable communication skills to provide a positive and
fluid in-office experience for patients, handling patient intake,
same-day schedule management, follow-up scheduling, and monitoring
patient feedback
- Contribute to team development through rounding, attending team
huddles, participating in problem-solving, and supporting providers
with ad-hoc requests
- Perform opening and closing duties, daily office upkeep, and
maintain the look and feel of patient and employee-facing
spacesRequirements
- Graduated from a postsecondary Medical Assistant program or
completed relevant training by the armed forces or possess a
Medical Assistant certification issued by a certifying
organization
- At least 6 months of experience as a Medical Assistant or
Phlebotomist outside of a training/externship environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- A High School Diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in computer technology, including typing, internet
navigation, and multiple software systems
- Experience working on collaborative, diverse,
multi-disciplinary teams, with a proven ability to display
confidence and instill trust during the collection processAbout One
