  • Job Details
  • THIS POSITION REQUIRES A FULL 3 YEARS OF ICU EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED.
  • The right candidate will have 3 full years of current ICU experience and hold an active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license (TNCC is preferred).
  • Travelers could also float to the sister facility if needed.
  • Typically, every other weekend is required but might have to work 3 weekends a month if unit is busy and needs extra coverage.
  • Flexibility is a must.
  • Travelers must pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
  • There is also a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation (study guides will be provided with the first day instructions).
  • COVID vaccine is required or declination form with appropriate documentation AND hospital approval.

    • Active BLS, ACLS, NIHSS and AZ license or compact license required.
    • Pass a dysrhythmia exam upon offer with 2 max attempts.
    • Successfully complete a pass/fail Sim Lab on Day 1 of orientation.
      • Schedule Information
      • Typically, every other weekend is required.
      • Might have to work 3 weekends a month.
      • Flexibility is a must for scheduling.
        • Unit Specific Information
        • Nurse:Patient Ratios 1:2, 1:1
        • Common diagnoses/Types of patients include Level 1 trauma, Falls, GSW, blunt trauma, MVAs, trauma patients over age of 15, Ex-lap, crani, specialty neuro-surgery cases, CVA, post-TPA, COVID, sepsis, ARDS.
        • Charge Nurse duties include not taking patients.
        • No nurse aids on the unit, only used for sitters and as Health Unit Secretary.
        • Hospitalist or Intensivist in house 24/7.
        • RT in ICU 24/7.
        • Self scheduling.
        • Unit/Department specific orientation 1-2 days.
        • May have 1 holiday off in an assignment.
          • Additional Details
          • Experience must also include EITHER neuro or CV.
          • UNA Dysrhythmia Exam required 24-48hrs PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE of a position. MAX ATTEMPTS IS 2.
          • Surgical ICU - Trauma Neuro Surgery
          • Expectation is to float between all 3 ICUs.
          • Float to tele with a 1:3 or 1:4 ratio as needed.
